Magic plays tracks and artists that everyone knows and loves, providing a sing along soundtrack, which is infectious. The audience come to the station for its huge variety of music. heat Radio is the radio spinoff of heat magazine, meaning you’ll hear everything you’d expect from the magazine – celebrity gossip, entertainment news and brilliant pop music all with that uniquely funny heat spin.

Reporting to the Content Director Magic 105.4 and Programme Manager, heat Radio and based in Central London.

We are looking for someone with specific music scheduling abilities and some level of working in music radio is essential.

Overall Responsibilities
To produce and deliver, broadcast-relevant programming content including music schedules for heat Radio and production support for Magic 105.4 on all broadcast platforms.

Key Areas of responsibility
- Day-to-day scheduling and production of music logs for heat services as defined by the Programme Manager, heat and some music support for Magic.
- The building of automated hours across Magic and heat channels when required.
- Assisting with the production of commercial content across both stations.
- In Studio production with live on-air talent (working to the brief of the Programme Manager, heat) and post-production editing with pre-recorded programming to bring content and programmes to air for future broadcast (heat Radio and Magic 105.4).
- From time to time film and edit visual content to complement audio work for use on-line, and on other digital platforms and through social media.
- Be proficient in online and social media usage and share content through the various channels.
- Write scripts for programming idents, trails and commercial promos to a high standard and produce them as directed.

Reporters at Argus Media cover specific energy and commodity markets and report on deals, price movements and market news.  Working with a market editor, you will produce daily price assessments and commentaries, while newsletter editors will help you develop analytical features and editorials.

As a reporter you should have a demonstrable interest in global business and politics, and an ability to understand how markets and business transactions work.  Knowledge of the energy and commodity sectors is useful but not essential.  You should have excellent communication skills together with strong writing and numeracy skills, inquisitiveness and the ability to build contacts with industry executives quickly and effectively.  Fluency in foreign languages would be an advantage.

If you are someone who enjoys the challenge of reporting on the dynamic and fast-moving energy markets, who enjoys developing contacts within an industry and is open to travel then this is an excellent opportunity for you. Argus will upskill you with extensive internal and external training.

What it’s all about:

This is a “go-to” role in the IT team for all Globalers who needs help with any of our technology kit and systems.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be the one making sure that when Globalers contact the IT Support team with a problem or asking for some new kit, that these things are correctly logged, prioritised and done.

You’ll help maintain all the IT systems at our London office so that everything is running smoothly.

Using your knowledge of the technical kit we have and the systems we use, you’ll give advice and help to Globalers when they have any issues to try and sort them out as soon as possible.

When we have a plan to roll out any new technologies, you’ll be part of the team that organises this and makes sure everything works as it should.

You’ll work with the Broadcast Engineering teams so that broadcast IT systems are looked after properly so that they are “always on”.

You will be responsible for providing travel bulletins to radio clients, and assisting our editors in collating traffic and travel information to update our custom database. The ability to present articulately and confidently is a must, whilst an excellent knowledge of roads across the South East would be an advantage. You may:

The leading title for the pub trade – the Publican’s Morning Advertiser (PMA) – is seeking a Web Editor to join the team.

The Web Editor’s role is to manage and co-ordinate the online activity of the PMA’s journalists (as well as his/her own content) to ensure the group’s online output is timely, fresh and engaging.

Working alongside our in-house digital marketing team, the Web Editor will be tasked with achieving a series of targets (unique visitors, active newsletter subscribers, volume of return visits and social media following).

Reporting directly to the Group Editor, the Web Editor will be responsible for co-ordinating content delivery for the following digital products and services:

  • Websites
  • Newsletters
  • Social Media

The Web Editor will react quickly and creatively to industry events to coordinate the produce engaging, up-to-the minute content in the most appropriate format. The Web Editor will also plan and deliver or co-ordinate exclusive, set-piece multimedia features and other high-value content across the group.

The Web Editor will monitor and report web and e-mail metrics to ensure the team focuses its online efforts in the areas where they will generate the highest levels of relevant traffic and user engagement.

Specific duties will include:

  • Producing exclusive (multimedia) content for the PMA website
  • Co-ordinating the online publication of content produced by the wider team
  • Ensuring all content is correctly classified and SEO’d to optimise the user search experience
  • Mentoring and developing the web skills of members of the wider editorial team
  • Monitoring and reporting web metrics to enable prioritisation of resources and content
  • Co-ordinating and producing all e-mail newsletters across the group
  • Designing data capture, lead generation and email registration systems
  • Co-ordinating social media activity across the group (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn)
  • Seeding and monitoring online discussion forums
  • Managing the online promotion of PMA events, and planning post-event coverage
  • Liaising with the ad teams to create innovative customer solutions

The Web Editor should:

  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Be creative, able to select the appropriate medium for each content opportunity
  • Be able to multitask and prioritise work schedules
  • Be able to enthuse and excite colleagues to write effectively for the website
  • Remain close to the industry, developing and influencing high-level contacts

THE ROLE
Experienced broadcast journalist required to assist in the production of a variety of Perform’s services. Ranging from daily UK-based sports news service for Broadband and Mobile, to production of the WTA Newsfeed delivered around the world. This is a truly multiplatform venture with various future prospects and challenges.

You must have experience in scripting, voicing and editing packages. This role is based on overnight hours of 9pm – 7am but flexibility will be required to fit in with the nature of the global sport’s fixture schedule.

You will be based in our Feltham so it is essential, due to the nature of the hours, that you can arrange your journey to and from work outside of public transport hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist in the production of news stories and a variety of post-production functions, all delivered to an editorially high standard. The successful candidate will deliver original, high quality scripts and produce pictures and graphics with energy and skill.

• To voice products to broadcast standard.
• To make judgements and selections appropriate to service requirements.
• To develop an understanding of new technologies used in the delivery of a multi-platform programme and to use the equipment needed to execute this.
• To operate a variety of editing software including AVID and and Adobe Premiere based suites to a broadcast standard, to produce your own features.
• To work well to tight deadlines and to offer creative and flexible solutions to the producer to develop and shape products
• To build and maintain a proactive and collaborative relationship with in-house teams, and have an understanding of technical and delivery aspects of multi-platform production
• Staying on top of updates and changes to channels, restrictions, branding and graphics
• Ensure content stays within rights restrictions

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• To interpret ideas/stories/angles in a way which demonstrates an understanding of production on all platforms
• To demonstrate balanced and objective judgement and editorial decisions based on a thorough understanding of editorial guidelines
• First rate knowledge of and interest in a range of sports
• Current experience of delivering voice reports to a broadcast standard is essential
• Experience of editing sports news and features to a broadcast standard
• Creative thinking is a must, as well as the ability to interpret this in a clear and concise manner
• Team player, but equally able to work independently
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure coupled with working to tight deadlines
• Broadcast journalism qualification is essential

• Must have proficiency in using Adobe Premiere, Dalet and AVID editing systems.
• Strong experience of working for a multi-platform sports news agency and on sports news bulletins for broadcast.
• Must have experience and proficiency in producing a variety of content, whether it's packages that go straight to syndication or news pieces to go into a bulletin sports news show.
• Must have experience working across Newsfeeds, and experience working on tennis is also a must.
• Must have experience of the full production process from idea conception to delivery
• Must have familiarity of delivering content for syndication.
• Must have familiarity of a range of sports.
• Must have ability to produce breaking news content, working to tight deadlines.
• Must have experience in stepping up to producer level, when no senior member of staff is available, taking responsibility for setting news agenda when required.
• Team player, but equally able to work independently
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Attention to detail
• Must have qualification in journalism related degree
